Solar Panel Framing

The US solar energy market has been experiencing significant year over year growth rates which should continue for the next several years.  The steadily declining cost of the collectors and the emergence of new collectors that promise even greater reductions will keep growth rates high.  The C6 exclusive territory includes all of the premier solar farm locations in the US.  The C6 product will dramatically reduce the weight of the framing systems and allow for more building retrofits to be considered (previous roof load concerns) and make all installations substantially easier and less expensive.

Lightest and strongest in the market
SmartStrutTM framing members will be 1/20th the weight of their steel competitors and less than 1/8th the weight of a comparable aluminum competitor; SmartFrameTM will carry longer spans and require fewer support legs as well.

Easy to transport and deliver to the site and installation location
The light SmartFrameTM requires no equipment to load or unload and it can be delivered in lengths twice as long as the aluminum competitor (if desired) this will eliminate the need for expensive field joints. Large quantities can be moved over the roof surface on light weight carts to speed up installation and the product also does not require the use of heavy equipment and extensive labor.  C6 will have the lowest purchase price and will be dramatically less expensive to install.

Can be installed where other framing is too heavy
The extreme low weight of SmartStrutTM will dramatically reduce the overall weight of every installation and can make the difference on a structures’ ability to carry the load of a large PV installation.  C6 eliminates the need for expensive joints or added intermediate supports because it allows for the loads to be carried to the main building columns, which avoids overloading minimally designed trusses in many “big box” structures.

Very rigid
The high strength to weight ratio of SmartStrutTM makes it a strong candidate for the framing of trough and other solar collector designs where weight, and the stability of the mirrors that track the sun are critical concerns when designing and sizing the drive motors and the supports that hold them.  C6 will explore developing a phase two framing product for collectors.
